It not only represents aesthetic beauty, but a moral attitude and the soul of the Japanese; one sees the eternal in the transitory illumination, a fading permanence. A metaphor of ephemeral life.

木々の葉の隙間から差し込む陽光：それは目に見える奇跡ともいえる現象。

すべての光は、目には見ることのできない自然界の根源を称えほのめかす。

光は古来より、神聖なるものの隠喩であり、人々を照らす慈しみや救世の象徴として描かれてきた。岡村は移ろう光を画面に留めることを試み、光と表裏関係にある陰をも自然界のシルエットを通して表現する。

光が混ざり合って白色光となるように、色彩は混色を一切せず、単一の色を混在させることで自然界のプリズムを画面上に再現。その画面奥から溢れ出す光の粒子。

それは見ための美しさだけではなく、日本人の道徳的な振舞いと精神性、即ち束の間の明るく降り注ぐ光の中に永遠と、消えゆく不変性を見るという本質を表している。

The moon is a porthole; a window through which one looks at the deep nature of being and into oneself simultaneously.

Its simplicity of form empties the mind of superfluous thoughts that obscure and hinder introspection.

A circle is made of a simple stroke in a single uninterrupted gesture, like the path towards Zen meditation.

This conciliatory motion represents a masking of the ego and elicits a union of spirit.

As stated by the poet Sen no Rikyuu,“The moon’ s flood of silver light Chequers all the room, There’ s no need to be abashed If our heart is pure and clear.”

月はまるで船の円窓；人はその円窓を通して本質と自己を同時に映し見る。

そのシンプルなフォルムは、内省を妨げる煩悩を心から取り除いてくれるかのように私達を禅の瞑想へと誘い、

海面に映る月は実態のないもの、すなわち見る者の心理を表す。

空にある月は、洗練された澱みない一筆で描かれた無を表す円相をも想起させる。

静寂な画面上に上った満月を眺めていると、己を見つめ内省を促す内なる引力に引き寄せられるかのように、心洗われるであろう。

The transitory nature of things calls to mind what is beyond the physical: the everlasting.

These paintings capture the relative truth of one’ s gaze in its incompleteness.

A realm beyond the finite and orbiting forms symbolizes the universalistic impulse to aspire‒ as a single origin point gives rise to a line in Japanese painting.

移ろう万物の本質は、物体や肉体を超越し、永遠に不滅である。見えないものの存在を描くことが日本画の本質であり、日本は古来から様々な文化、価値観、宗教を取り入れて新しいものを作り上げてきた。

この世界を構成する最小単位は点であり、その点の集合体で構成された軌道線は、人が作り出した最も美しいもののひとつである。軌道を周る惑星の彼方に広がる宇宙領域は、普遍的なその日本画の本質と生命の生きる渇望を象徴しており、まさに現在の宇宙観と日本画の世界観とが混在した、スーパーフラットの世界。

Bug
It's a flaw that unexpectedly appears in a machine that should be perfect, amidst vast calculations.

As humans, errors (flaws)
can make us feel life even within machine bugs.

In this Anima series, I extract accidental bugs as textures and embed them into the screen as devices that manifest life.
Within those gaps of bugs, I imbue the source of life, Anima, with forms of ancient mythical beasts, expressed with minimal pixels and drifting in pure white.
The fusion of digital and physical, AI has spread in society, widely used by the public, and we will likely entrust much to AI from now on.
Even in the world beyond AI's development, art will continue to exist,
transforming its form like all things flow and change, the soul, Anima, exists by transforming its form.

Connecting the present and the future,
with a prayer for life,
the soul resides in this screen.

バグ (Bug)
それは完璧であるはずの機械が膨大な計算の中で突如訪れる不具合。

人が人たる要素としてのエラー（不具合）
機械の中のバグにも生命を感じる。

このAnimaシリーズでは偶発的なバグをテクスチャとして抽出し生命を顕現させる装置として画面に落とし込む。
そのバグの隙間に生命の源、Animaを古代より伝わる神獣の形を最小限のピクセルで表現し純白の白に漂着させるように魂を込めた。
デジタルとフィジカルの融合、AIが社会に普及し広く一般に使われるようになり、
私たちはこれから多くをAIに委ねるだろう。
AIが発達したその先の世界にも形を変えてアートは存在し続ける。
万物が流転するように生命が形を変えて存在する魂、Anima。

現代（いま）と未来を繋ぐ
生命への祈りを込めて
魂がこの画面に宿る

As nature unpredictably draws visible forms from its dark womb, the artist allows visions to emerge, almost unconsciously, from his experience and the encoded messages communicated by the natural world. The creations of nature and the artist are similar: an artist’s work holds a mirror to nature and revels in its profound mystery.

自然がそのほの暗い、暖かな生命の宿る場所から予測のつかない形を生み出すかのように。岡村はそのビジョンを、ふと目にした景色、自然と耳に入ってくる音など、自然界から享受した感覚を即興的に図像化し画面上で構成した同シリーズは、自然を映しだす鏡のよう。
極限まで無意識を意識し、その自然から得た感覚のみを筆に載せることで画面上に現れる、本人も予測のつかないフォルムと表現。

Improvisation has always been at the core of my practice.
I approach the surface in a consciously open state of perception.
The work progresses as a response to the presences and emotions that arise in eachmoment.

Fragments of passing landscapes, sounds that linger in the ear,
and emotions or memories that emerge from within.
They are not intentionally constructed,
but received and accepted each time,
quietly appearing on the surface, leaving their traces behind.

By releasing control, the act of making shifts from construction to dialogue.
Each trace is not the result of thought,
but a record of the point where perception and response intersect.

Within surfaces born of improvisation,
chance and necessity breathe together.
They overlap with the way nature gives form and then lets it go,
reflecting the mystery of this world,
where generation and disappearance repeat endlessly.

即興性は、常に制作の中心にある。
感覚をひらいた状態で画面と向き合うことを、より意識的に行っている。
その瞬間に立ち上がる気配や感情に応答するように、制作は進められる。

ふとよぎる風景の断片、耳に残る音、
そして内側に生じる感情や記憶。
それらは意図的に組み立てられるのではなく、
その都度、受け取られ、許容され、
静かに画面に現れ、跡として残る。

制御を手放すことで、制作は構築ではなく対話となる。
一つひとつの痕跡は思考の結果ではなく
知覚と反応が交わった、その地点の記録。

即興によって生まれた画面には、
偶然と必然が同時に息づいている。
それは、自然がかたちを生み、また手放していく在り方と重なり、
生成と消失を繰り返す、この世界の神秘を映し出す。

Screens of dew on transparent surfaces: faces and images, elusive tracts of distant emotions.

Memories persist in their incompleteness.

The painter’ s brush is like a curious child’ s finger, conjuring shapes in the congealed vapor on the metaphorical windows of the soul.

Condensation is a temporary canvas generated by a difference of temperature.

As such, it can only appear when specific conditions are met. It shows and vanishes like the ebb and flow of humanity; one tries to understand the forces at work, but there’ s never a clear image.

The only way to glimpse the truth is through the tracings of children with their untarnished perspectives of the everyday.

結露滴る透明なスクリーン、その先に見えるもの、それは捕えようのない遠い日の感情と曖昧さの中に存在し続けている人々の記憶。

岡村の筆は子供の指のように縦横無尽に走り、結露でできた儚い即興のキャンバスの上に無邪気な形が現れる。

描いては消えていくその形には、記憶の断片にあった幻、そこに居たはずの存在、儚くとも美しい人々の営み見て取れるかのよう。現れは消えゆく結露現象は、まるで現代の浮き沈み激しい混沌とした人間社会のようでもあり、ぼんやりとした結露の向こう側を見ようとするも、その本質は覆われていてはっきりと見えることはない。

窓を拭い伝う水滴もまた、同じ場所には留まらない生命と記憶のメタファー。

唯一その向こう側にある本質に触れる術があるとすれば、子どもが無邪気に指で落書きをしたその隙間から、その曇りのない眼差しによってのみ、垣間見ることができるだろう。

Born from the question of whether the reality we witness daily might be a virtual world, the 「Timeless Reflections」series emerges.

In the repetition of our daily lives, this world, like a game, holds countless branching points, each affecting our future like ripples expanding outward. Can we become aware of these countless branches, discover the new worlds beyond them, and step beyond existing boundaries into new dimensions?

私たちが日々目にしている現実が、もしかしたら仮想世界ではないかという問いかけから生まれた、「Timeless Reflections」シリーズ。

繰り返される毎日の中で、この世界はまるでゲームのように無数の分岐点を持ち、その一つ一つが広がる波紋のように私たちの未来に影響を及ぼします。私たちはその無数の分岐に気付き、その先に広がる新たな世界を見出し、既存の枠を超え、新たな次元へと踏み出すことができるでしょうか？
